Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the company’s next-generation version of Siri is on track for release next year, offering users a more personalized and intelligent experience.
Speaking during Apple’s quarterly earnings call with investors, Cook said the company is “making good progress” on the upgraded Siri, which will form a key part of Apple’s broader artificial intelligence strategy.
“We’re also excited for a more personalized Siri. We’re making good progress on it, and as we’ve shared, we expect to release it next year,” Cook told investors.
Apple reassures users after delayed Siri timelines
While Cook’s remarks echoed his previous quarter’s statement, this time he emphasized the “next year” timeline — an assurance welcomed by users and investors alike.
Apple has previously faced delays in delivering major Siri upgrades, raising doubts about its AI roadmap. This confirmation suggests the company is confident about its current development schedule for the next-generation Siri, expected to debut with iOS 26.4.

However, according to a recent Bloomberg report, early testers within Apple have expressed concerns about Siri’s performance in pre-release versions of iOS 26.4. It remains to be seen whether the timeline will shift as testing continues.
Apple intelligence expands with new AI-powered features
In addition to the Siri update, Cook highlighted several AI-driven innovations that Apple has rolled out in recent months as part of its “Apple Intelligence” initiative.

These include:
-
Live Translation, which enables real-time multilingual communication.
-
Visual Intelligence, designed to help users learn and explore using image recognition.
-
Workout Buddy on Apple Watch, which uses AI to provide personalized motivational insights based on users’ fitness data.
Cook noted that Apple’s approach to AI emphasizes privacy, on-device processing, and seamless integration, setting it apart from competitors that rely heavily on cloud-based models.
He added that developers are already using Apple’s on-device foundation models to create new experiences, further embedding AI into the company’s ecosystem.
Developers already testing iOS 26.4
Apple’s upcoming iOS 26.4 update is expected to introduce the revamped Siri to developers first, followed by a public release later next year.
This version of Siri will reportedly offer more conversational capabilities, smarter task handling, and deeper integration across Apple’s ecosystem — from iPhone to Mac and Apple Watch.
The update is also expected to align with Apple’s long-term AI strategy, bridging the gap between its hardware efficiency and AI-driven software experiences.
