The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shandana Gulzar over allegations of spreading fake news and making anti-state statements.
Sources divulged on Wednesday, Shandana Gulzar faces accusations of engaging in activities against the state and posting fabricated content on social media. The FIR stated that she circulated false and misleading information on social media platforms.
The NCCIA has initiated formal investigations into the dissemination of fake news and hate campaigns. Among the allegations, Shandana Gulzar had shared a doctored image showing the prime minister shaking hands with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
