MWL secretary general meets PM Shehbaz
Separately, Muslim World League Secretary General Dr Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Thursday.
The prime minister acknowledged the League’s important global role in promoting the true image of Islam and advancing the shared goals of the Muslim world. He remarked that the organisation has consistently encouraged mutual respect and understanding among religions, beliefs and civilisations.
He described the international conference held earlier this year on the education of women and girls in the Muslim world, supported by the League, as a positive initiative. He offered Pakistan’s full support for organising similar events in future.
Emphasising Pakistan’s longstanding brotherly ties with Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister conveyed his good wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. He commended the leadership of Muslim countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, in facilitating the Gaza peace agreement and voicing support for Palestinians at the international level.
Dr Al-Issa expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for the warm welcome and hospitality extended during his visit.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar and the Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki.
