Adviser to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah said on Friday that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders have been asked to refrain from making hostile comments towards the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Speaking to journalists at the Parliament House in Islamabad, he said he hoped President Asif Ali Zardari and the PPP leadership would also advise their members to avoid such language against the PML-N.
The PML-N stalwart made it clear that the PPP had not demanded an apology from the Punjab chief minister, nor was there any need for it.
He said that while the political parties may oppose one another, they are not enemies, adding that a culture of enmity in politics was introduced by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, which he termed as "extremely dangerous".
Sanaullah was of the view that it was important for the government and opposition members to maintain a working relationship, and that political disagreements should not lead to personal hostility.
