Renowned Pakistani actress Javeria Abbasi has opened up about her second marriage, describing it as a “unique” ceremony performed in two different ways — following both Sunni and Shia traditions.
The actress shared the details while speaking on a talk show, where she also discussed her daughter Anzila Abbasi’s participation in Miss Universe Pakistan 2024.
During her appearance on a private TV channel , Javeria Abbasi expressed pride in her daughter Anzila Abbasi, who competed in the Miss Universe Pakistan 2024 pageant and secured a place among the top 21 candidates.
She shared that despite widespread criticism, she stood firmly by her daughter’s decision to participate. According to the actress, the competition provided a positive platform for Pakistani women to showcase their talent internationally.
Javeria revealed that Anzila even wore a burqa during the competition, yet critics continued to target her — a reaction the actress called “unnecessary.”

While reflecting on her second marriage, the veteran actress said her nikah was unlike any other, which she fondly described as a “Su-Shi wedding” — a symbolic blend of Sunni and Shia wedding customs.
She explained that the ceremony was performed according to both sects’ traditions, making it a “dual nikah.” Javeria shared that rituals from both families were observed, turning the event into a beautiful cultural and spiritual union.
The actress emphasized that this fusion of traditions made the wedding more meaningful and memorable for everyone involved.
