Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari held a telephone conversation on Monday.
During the conversation, Mr Zardari extended his warm congratulations to PML-N chief upon his return to Pakistan.
Sources within the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have disclosed that both leaders concurred on the urgency of joining forces to confront the challenges facing the country.
The two influential political figures expressed their commitment to playing a unified role in preserving the state's stability and initiating measures to alleviate the hardships experienced by the public, as well as addressing the economic challenges.
Meanwhile, both top guns have also mutually extended invitations for a face-to-face meeting.
