Bollywood actor and filmmaker Aamir Khan has attributed the soaring popularity of the recently released romantic drama Saiyaara to its resonance with the preferences of younger audiences, particularly Generation Z.
Speaking at a promotional event in Mumbai, Khan lauded Saiyaara’s success and praised the team behind the project for delivering a fresh and emotionally engaging cinematic experience.
“Every generation carries its own taste and preferences. I feel today’s youth connects more with content that reflects their mood and emotions,” Khan said. “Saiyaara is a testament to that shift. It has become a major hit with the younger audience, and as a filmmaker, I aspire to create stories that resonate across generations.”
The film, featuring newcomers Ahaan Pandey and Anit Pada, has been widely appreciated for its heartfelt narrative, melodious soundtrack, and the chemistry between the lead pair. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara has been hailed by both critics and the public for its sincerity and cinematic finesse.

Khan’s production company also issued a formal statement congratulating the team on the film’s theatrical success. “Congratulations to the entire team on the brilliant success of Saiyaara. Ahaan Pandey and Anit Pada have made an impressive debut with maturity and charm, while Mohit Suri has, as always, brought intensity and craftsmanship to the screen. Yash Raj Films deserve credit for producing such a beautiful film,” the statement read.
Industry analysts say the film’s success reflects a broader trend in Indian cinema, where younger audiences are seeking stories that offer emotional depth and fresh perspectives. Saiyaara’s strong performance at the box office underscores this generational shift.
Meanwhile, Khan also announced that his film Sitaare Zameen Par will have a global release via YouTube on August 1, 2025. In India, the film will be available at a price of Rs 100, while international audiences can access it at locally adjusted rates.
