A firing incident occurred at the dera (outhouse) of political figure Khawar Farid Maneka in Pir Ghani, Pakpattan, leaving one person injured and leading to the arrest of his son, Musa Maneka.
According to initial reports, the injured youth, identified as Ali Bahadur, was allegedly shot by Musa Maneka during a heated argument. Rescue teams reached the site promptly and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Pakpattan police confirmed that a first information report (FIR) has been registered under Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code (attempted murder) on the complaint of the victim’s father, Manzoor Ahmed. The complainant stated that Musa Maneka became enraged over bedsheets being left outside a room and opened fire on Ali.
Police said that the suspect, Musa Maneka -- the son of Mian Khawar Farid Maneka and his ex-wife Bushra Bibi -- has been taken into custody and is being interrogated.
The injured victim, Ali Bahadur, told authorities that he tried to flee the scene after the altercation, but Musa caught up with him and shot him.
