Pakistan has successfully wrapped up its 33-day pre-Hajj flight operation, transporting more than 115,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia ahead of this year’s pilgrimage, state media reported on Saturday.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the final Hajj flight PK-759 from Karachi carrying 307 pilgrims, landed in Jeddah at 6:55 PM local time, marking the end of the outbound journey phase.
Under the Government Hajj Scheme, 88,260 pilgrims were flown to the Kingdom through 342 flights from various cities. An additional 27,000 pilgrims traveled under the Private Hajj Scheme, according to Muhammad Umar Butt, spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
A combination of airlines — PIA, Saudi Airlines, SereneAir, Airblue, and AirSial — operated the Hajj flights.
To support pilgrims during the key days of Hajj, the ministry has deployed around 470 coordinators, each responsible for groups of 188 to 200 pilgrims. These officials will assist pilgrims throughout their journey from Mina to Arafat, Muzdalifah, Jamarat, and back to Makkah.
The Hajj rituals will begin on June 4, with the Day of Arafah on June 5, followed by Eid Al-Adha on June 6 in Saudi Arabia.
