Pakistan’s military has issued a stern warning to India, making it clear that any violation of Pakistan’s territorial sovereignty will be met with a swift, certain, and ruthless response.
In a hard-hitting interview with Sky News, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Pakistan will not tolerate any aggression from its eastern neighbour.
“Whoever tries to violate our territory, integrity, and sovereignty -- our response will be merciless,” warned the ISPR chief, adding that both Pakistan and India are nuclear-armed nations and any serious provocation could lead to catastrophic consequences for the region.
The military spokesperson further condemned India’s long-standing tactic of blaming Pakistan for terrorism, calling it a fabricated narrative designed to instill fear. “The world should never allow India to spread fear by fabricating a narrative of terrorism year after year,” he said.
Touching upon the decades-old Kashmir dispute, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance that Kashmir is not an internal matter of India. “The Kashmir issue is an unfinished part of the Partition agenda between Pakistan and India,” he emphasized.
“It is a trilateral dispute involving Pakistan, India, and China, and must be resolved according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and UN Security Council resolutions.”
The DG ISPR accused India of maintaining a heavy military presence in Kashmir under the false pretence of internal security, effectively harassing the local population and denying their right to self-determination.
“There can be no peace between Pakistan and India until the Kashmir issue is resolved justly,” he asserted.
General Sharif also voiced concern over India’s military posture and warned that any attempt to open a war front against Pakistan would be disastrous for the entire region. “Countries like the United States are aware of the nuclear risk. We are fully cognizant of India’s intentions, and we are prepared,” he added.
Sky News reported that despite India’s superior numbers in conventional forces, Pakistan has managed to maintain strong defense capabilities. The report also mentioned that Washington’s recent focus on the Kashmir issue has irked New Delhi, calling it a "real test" for how much pressure the US is willing to exert on India.
