As a dry weather pattern settles over Punjab, including the provincial capital, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that Lahore is likely to witness hot and dry conditions in the coming days, with little chance of rainfall.
According to the Met Office, while Friday began with cloudy skies and intermittent sunshine, residents should brace for dusty winds and rising temperatures. The minimum temperature in Lahore is expected to hover around 24°C, with the mercury climbing to a high of 38°C.
The department further stated that dry weather will likely persist for the next two to three days, with the potential for the temperature to rise even further. “There is little to no chance of rainfall during this period. As a result, the intensity of the heat may increase,” the advisory noted.
Citizens have been urged to take precautionary measures, especially during peak afternoon hours, to avoid heat-related illnesses. The authorities have also cautioned vulnerable segments of the population, including the elderly and children, to stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun.
The shift in weather comes at a time when parts of Punjab are already experiencing unusually dry conditions, raising concerns about air quality and the potential impact on public health.
