The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been left without two of its senior officials following the recent departure of Director High Performance Nadeem Khan, who exited after completing his notice period.
Nadeem Khan’s resignation comes just weeks after Director Media and Communications Samiul Hassan also stepped down from his position.
Both positions have now been officially removed from the PCB’s website, sources confirmed.
Mr Nadeem - a former cricketer and elder brother of ex-captain Moin Khan - had been associated with the PCB’s High Performance Centre and was instrumental in shaping domestic structures and training modules over the past few years.
According to insiders, he is now set to join Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans in a senior capacity.
While reasons for the back-to-back departures remain unclear, board officials have refrained from making any formal statements.
Sources close to the development said that former fast bowler Aqib Javed, who currently serves as head coach of Lahore Qalandars, is being considered for the vacant Director High Performance role.
Aqib, a 1992 World Cup winner, has earned praise in recent years for developing young talent through Qalandars’ talent hunt programme.
The recent exits mark a period of turbulence within the PCB’s leadership, raising questions about the board’s internal management and its ability to retain senior professionals.
It is worth noting that not all those appointed to directorial roles in recent years have been former international cricketers.
