Flight Lieutenant Dr. Mah Noor Farzand, a Pakistan Air Force dental surgeon, passed away on August 23, 2021, after contracting COVID-19 while treating patients during the pandemic. Her story represents a unique intersection of military service and medical dedication during a critical time.
Dr. Farzand, an alumna of Army Public School Malir Cantt, was one of only two dental surgeons selected for the Pakistan Air Force nationwide. After completing her dental surgery degree, she joined the PAF, where she served until her final days treating COVID-19 patients.
In recognition of her services, she was awarded a gold medal by Baqai Medical University. The local community has also commemorated her memory by naming a park in Malir Cantt as "Mah Noor Shaheed Park."
Her father, reflecting on her service, noted that Dr. Farzand possessed both professional excellence and a strong sense of duty. "She handled every relationship and responsibility with exceptional care," he recalled, adding that she had been a brilliant student since childhood.
Her siblings remember her as both a guide and friend. "She was exceptional in her studies and provided leadership in every aspect of life," her brother shared. Her sister pledged to continue her legacy of public service, emphasizing the importance of creating positive change in society.
