Lahore's legal fraternity initiated a judicial boycott today, locking all entrances and exits of the city's session court as part of their protest.
The lawyers, led by prominent figures of the Lahore Bar, are pressing for the approval of eight major demands, including dismissing cases filed against their colleagues and protecting fundamental rights.
During the protest, the lawyers barred police officers and court staff from entering the court premises. Munir Hussain Bhatti, one of the key leaders, issued a stern request to the administration, demanding that their demands be accepted by 5pm Tuesday (today).
"If our demands are not met, we will escalate the protest to the Punjab Assembly and the High Court and take the matter to the President," Bhatti warned.
The protest has brought judicial proceedings to a standstill, with no resolution in sight unless the administration responds to the lawyers' calls for action.
