After the caretaker government reduced prices of petroleum products marginally on Saturday night, now the total price of each litre of petrol includes Rs127.74 in tax while on the price of diesel the tax is Rs93.37 a litre.
According to documents seen by Samaa TV, the price of petrol also includes customs duty of Rs21 per litre, while that of diesel is being charged Rs22 in duty.
Moreover, adjustments worth Rs12 as being charged in the price of petrol, while a premium of Rs15 is also being claimed per litre on petrol, according to the documents.
An accident tax of 38 paisas is also part of the per-litre price of petrol and 32 paisas in the price of diesel, the documents stated.

The per-litre price of diesel also includes a marine accident tax of 41 paisas, a levy tax of Rs50 per litre, Rs7.08 dealer margin, and 7.82 paisas distribution margin.
Moreover, on petrol, a petroleum levy of Rs60 and Rs5.53 freight charges are being charged per litre, as well as a distribution margin of Rs6.94 and dealer margin of Rs7.82.
On Saturday night, the Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar-led caretaker government slashed the price of petrol by Rs8 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs11 for the next fortnight.
In a notification, the Finance Ministry said that in the wake of variations in the international price of petroleum products and improvement in the exchange rate, the government has decided to revise consumer prices.
