In order to address the annual tax revenue leakage amounting to Rs 5,600 billion, a dedicated task force headed by Caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has been established to drive reforms within the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
Other members of the task force include FBR chairman, Amjad Zubair Tiwana, Dr. Manzoor Ahmed, Dr. Musharraf, Amanullah Aamir, Amir Ijaz, Khalid Muhammad, and Mahmood Khalid. Ardsher Saleem Tariq, Member FBR Reforms, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Task Force.
The task force will prepare recommendations for reforms in the tax system, FBR and assess revenue loss in various areas including tax evasion, smuggling, corruption prevention, income tax, sales tax.
