Police have added murder and concealment of evidence charges to the Mir Raza Ali case after a medical report raised the possibility that he was killed.
The police have submitted a revised initial report to the Judicial Magistrate East court in Karachi, and the court has made it part of the record. The medical report dated 8 August raised the possibility that Mir Raza had been murdered. The charges were amended after his grave was opened under the supervision of the magistrate and an initial examination was carried out.
Police said Mir Raza returned home from his shop on the night of July 28. He told his mother that he was going to visit another house in PECHS. According to the police, he went to the other house at about 4am. When his family tried to contact him after some time, his mobile phone was switched off.
The family had initially registered a case of Mir Raza's abduction. Later, a new investigation committee was formed. During the investigation, further charges, including murder, were added to the case in the light of the evidence.
