Saudi Ministry of Defence spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki has said that the region and the world are facing new security threats, making joint cooperation necessary to deal with them effectively.
In a statement, Major General Turki Al-Maliki said every country has the full right to protect its national interests, while countries connected to the Red Sea are continuing to promote mutual contacts and cooperation.
He said the main objective of the multinational maritime defence alliance is to ensure maritime security and protect important sea routes to maintain stability in the region.
