The government decided on Thursday to speed up preparations for an IT workforce to support the growth of the digital economy, with Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima directing the immediate launch of modern IT courses across the country.
A meeting of heads of IT training institutions was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja, where a national strategy was agreed to provide young people with digital skills of international standards and accelerate the preparation of IT professionals.
The federal minister directed all provinces to immediately begin modern IT courses and international-standard training programmes. She said preparing young people according to the needs of the global market, freelancing sector and digital economy was the government’s top priority.
She also directed IT training institutions to submit weekly performance reports to the Ministry of IT.
