British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday, with the two sides discussing bilateral relations and regional developments, including the recent tensions between the United States and Iran.
According to the Foreign Office, Dar highlighted Islamabad's efforts to support dialogue, diplomacy and de-escalation, including its role in facilitating mediation aimed at reducing regional tensions.
The discussions also covered broader Pakistan-UK relations and the regional security situation.
The British High Commissioner welcomed Pakistan's efforts to promote regional peace and stability, the Foreign Office said.
The meeting comes as Pakistan has stepped up diplomatic engagement with regional and international partners following heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran.
