Security forces killed 19 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation on the N-25 highway in Balochistan, security sources said.
According to the sources, many terrorists were also injured in the operation, while 11 security personnel embraced martyrdom.
Security sources said the operation was conducted between Jhao Cross and Kararo on the N-25 highway.
The action was launched after reports that terrorists were blocking the road and collecting extortion from passengers and local residents. The sources said the terrorists were attempting to disrupt public movement and create fear among citizens using the key route.
19 terrorists killed, several injured
According to security sources, the timely action by security forces resulted in the killing of 19 terrorists. Several other terrorists were injured during the operation.
The sources said the operation reflected the state’s determination to protect the lives and property of citizens, secure highways and maintain peace in Balochistan.
11 security personnel martyred
Security sources said 11 personnel of the security forces were martyred during the operation. They said the sacrifices of the security forces showed their commitment to defending the people and ensuring that terrorist groups could not take peace hostage.
Security sources said every attempt to take peace hostage would be met with a full and strong response.
They added that the timely operation was a clear expression of the security forces’ resolve to protect Balochistan, safeguard public movement and prevent terrorists from targeting citizens or extorting money from travellers and locals.
