Chinese technology company UBTech has introduced the world’s first full-size, mass-produced ultra-bionic humanoid robots.
China has long played a leading role in the development of humanoid robotics, and the sector continues to advance at pace.
The company has announced large-scale production of highly realistic humanoid robots that closely resemble human beings and are equipped with advanced artificial intelligence systems.
These robots, named U World U One, are designed in male and female forms, standing at 183 centimetres and 169 centimetres respectively, and weighing roughly half of their human counterparts.
They are fitted with biomimetic skin and a dual-axis neck structure linked to a cervical spine system, enabling them to replicate nearly 90 per cent of basic human movement.
UBTech has stated that the facial expression system synchronises speech, lip movement and expressions in under 20 milliseconds.
The robots are equipped with an emotion-aware large language model capable of recognising more than 20 emotional states with over 90 per cent accuracy.
According to the company, the U One series has been developed for use across consumer and commercial sectors, including companionship, emotional support, lifestyle assistance, social care, reception services and hospitality.
Further applications include elderly care, psychological support, tourism and exhibition guidance, education, research, and high-end domestic services.
The company says more than 10,000 orders have been placed, with prices ranging between 17,000 US dollars and 145,000 US dollars depending on specifications. Initial deliveries are expected to begin in mid-September.
