Ali said he recorded the clarification after reports and speculation circulated on social media following the performance of 'Ravi' by two children on the Indian Punjabi television programme.
He said the performance had led to claims in Pakistan that he had refused permission for children to sing his songs on Pakistan Idol while allowing an Indian television channel to use them.
Rejecting those claims, Ali said he had not granted copyright or permission to any Indian television channel to use his songs. He said the song was aired without his consent or approval.
Ali said his legal team would contact the relevant television channel over the matter.
Ali says Pakistan idol remarks were taken out of context
Referring to the earlier controversy involving Pakistan Idol, Ali said his position had been misrepresented for almost a year and that his remarks had been taken out of context, which he said was regrettable.
