Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Rana Sanaullah has rejected speculation about a possible change in the prime minister after the federal budget, calling such reports completely baseless and misleading.
Speaking to the media at Parliament House, Rana Sanaullah said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is leading the country effectively and there is no question of any change in leadership.
The issue surfaced when a journalist asked Rana Sanaullah whether there was any truth to reports suggesting a change in the prime minister after the budget.
Responding to the question, the prime minister’s adviser categorically denied the claims. “This is completely wrong. There is no such matter,” Rana Sanaullah said.
He added that certain elements were spreading false information in an attempt to create uncertainty and instability in the country.
Claims aimed at creating instability
Rana Sana said some people want to destabilize the political environment by circulating baseless rumours.
According to him, such discussions emerge at important moments and are often promoted by anti-national elements. “Some people want to create instability by spreading such baseless news,” he said.
He added that these narratives have no connection with reality and should not be taken seriously.
Shehbaz leading country effectively
Defending the government’s performance, Rana Sanaullah said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently taking the country forward in the best possible way. He praised the prime minister’s leadership and said Pakistan has earned respect and dignity at the international level under the current government.
“The prime minister of Pakistan is leading the country forward in the best possible way,” he said. He also noted that Pakistan’s standing and reputation around the world have improved.
Govt remains open to dialogue
During the media interaction, Rana Sanaullah also spoke about the government's approach toward political engagement. He said the ruling coalition has consistently tried to maintain dialogue with the opposition.
“We have always tried to hold talks with the opposition,” he stated.
According to Sanaullah, the government believes political issues should be resolved through discussion and consultation.
Reflecting on his party’s time in opposition, Rana Sanaullah said the situation was very different when his party sat on the opposition benches.
“When we were in the opposition, cases were made against us,” he remarked.
His comments appeared to highlight what he described as a contrast between the government's current approach and previous political experiences.
Leadership speculation dismissed
The adviser’s remarks come amid ongoing political discussions following the federal budget debate.
By firmly rejecting reports of any leadership change, Rana Sanaullah sought to reassure supporters and dispel speculation regarding the future of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government.
