An Islamabad district and sessions court has upheld the non-bailable arrest warrants issued for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi in a case relating to alleged misleading accusations against state institutions and damage to their reputation.
The case was heard at the Islamabad District and Sessions Courts. Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah heard the case concerning allegations that misleading claims were made against state institutions, affecting their credibility.
The court upheld the non-bailable arrest warrants due to Sohail Afridi’s absence and ordered that he be arrested and produced before the court.
A case against Afridi was registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
The court adjourned further proceedings until June 29.
