US President Donald Trump has shared Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s statement regarding a possible peace agreement between the United States and Iran on his social media platform, drawing further international attention to the matter.
PM Shehbaz had stated that the United States and Iran were closer to a peace agreement than ever before and expressed hope that the deal would be finalised within the next 24 hours.
The prime minister said Pakistan was preparing for electronic signatures immediately after the completion of the agreement, while technical-level talks were also expected next week. He thanked both the United States and Iran for their cooperation during the negotiation process.
PM Shehbaz also expressed sincere appreciation for the support of brotherly countries in the region, saying the historic development could provide a strong foundation for lasting peace.
Sources said President Trump shared the prime minister’s statement on his Truth Social platform, adding to the significance of the diplomatic development.
It is pertinent to note that progress continues regarding a possible peace agreement between the United States and Iran, while remarks by Iran’s foreign minister have also attracted international attention.
