Noted businessman Arif Habib has said that the government is preparing to grant relief to the business sector in the upcoming budget.
In a special conversation with Samaa TV, Habib outlined the economic targets set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the next budget. He said that the IMF has also agreed to the proposed relief measures.
He said the government is serious about reducing tax rates and energy costs this time. He added that the value of the proposed relief stands at around Rs1,200 billion.
Habib stated that fiscal space would be easily available within the IMF’s economic framework.
He maintained that if the measures go ahead, not only the economy but also the stock market could see strong growth.
