India has nominated Dr Satyanjal Pandey as its new chargé d’affaires to Pakistan, sources said, marking a diplomatic change at the Indian mission in Islamabad.
According to sources, Pakistan has accepted the nomination, and Dr Pandey is expected to arrive in Pakistan within the next few weeks.
Sources said Dr Satyanjal Pandey has been nominated to serve as the new Indian charge d’affaires in Islamabad. Dr Pandey is currently serving as India’s deputy high commissioner in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan has accepted his nomination, clearing the way for his posting in Islamabad.
Geetka Srivastava completes term
The current Indian charge d’affaires, Dr Geetika Srivastava, has completed her term in Pakistan. Sources said she will soon leave Pakistan and return home after completing her diplomatic assignment.
Dr Pandey is expected to reach Pakistan in the coming weeks to take charge of his new diplomatic responsibilities. His appointment comes as part of a routine transition at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
