Commander of the Bahrain National Guard, H.H. General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, where both sides discussed strengthening defence cooperation and regional security.
The visit included separate meetings with Pakistan’s naval and air force leadership, focusing on expanding military-to-military collaboration and emerging defence technologies.
During the meeting at GHQ, matters of mutual interest, regional security developments, and avenues for enhanced bilateral defence cooperation were discussed.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Bahrain and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening military ties.
They also emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation at the defence and security level in the future.
Naval Headquarters Meeting Focuses on Maritime Security
Earlier, the Bahraini delegation also met Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters.
Discussions centred on bilateral defence collaboration and regional maritime security dynamics.
The Bahraini commander appreciated the Pakistan Navy’s role in promoting cooperative maritime security in the region, describing it as a stabilizing force for regional waters.
Air headquarters talks
The delegation also met Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters.
The Air Chief briefed the delegation on Pakistan Air Force’s modernization efforts, including:
- Capability enhancement
- Infrastructure development
- Indigenization of systems
- Advanced training reforms
Discussions also covered emerging defence technologies such as drones, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, advanced sensors, and digital innovation.
The Bahraini commander praised the professionalism and operational readiness of Pakistan’s armed forces.
He expressed interest in expanding cooperation in training, capacity-building, and emerging defence technologies.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to deepening collaboration in defence sectors for mutual benefit.
