Lebanese Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief General Rodolphe Haykal called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ), where both military leaders discussed regional security, defence cooperation and ways to further strengthen bilateral military relations.
The high-level military engagement underscored the growing cooperation between the armed forces of Pakistan and Lebanon and reflected a shared commitment to enhancing defence collaboration.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Rodolphe Haykal was accorded a warm welcome upon his arrival at GHQ in Rawalpindi.
A smartly turned-out tri-services contingent presented the visiting dignitary with a guard of honour, marking the significance of the visit.
Defence cooperation and regional security
During the meeting, Field Marshal Munir and Gen Haykal exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, the evolving regional security environment, defence cooperation and prospects for enhancing bilateral military relations.
The discussions focused on strengthening professional interactions, expanding training cooperation and deepening institutional linkages between the armed forces of both countries.
Both sides emphasized the importance of increasing professional contacts and enhancing military-to-military engagement to further strengthen cooperation.
Commitment to Lebanon
Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed the importance Pakistan attaches to its longstanding and cordial relations with Lebanon.
He underscored the Pakistan Army’s commitment to expanding defence collaboration with the Lebanese Armed Forces and highlighted Pakistan’s desire to further deepen military cooperation between the two friendly nations.
