Actor Shilpa Shinde recently made a controversial admission during a chat show appearance, stating that the sexual harassment allegations she had levelled in 2016 against Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain producer Sanjay Kohli were false.
She said the accusation came during a contractual dispute and was made because she had “no other option” at the time.
The confession quickly went viral online, triggering widespread debate across the entertainment industry and social media platforms.
Hina Khan calls it ‘shameful’
Reacting on X (formerly Twitter), Hina Khan said she usually avoids commenting on others’ personal matters but felt compelled to respond due to the broader societal implications.
She described the use of false allegations during disputes as “absolutely shameful” and said it harms not only individuals but also public trust.
Hina further emphasized that the “real victim” of the controversy was producer Sanjay Kohli and his family, who, she said, suffered due to the claims that have now been retracted.
‘The real victim suffered'
In her post, Hina Khan said she was “shocked beyond words” and questioned the ethical implications of using serious allegations to gain leverage in professional disputes.
She also expressed disbelief over how the situation unfolded, suggesting that legal channels should have been used instead of public accusations.
The actress added that she was “appalled” by the situation and criticized the handling of the controversy.
Return to ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’
The controversy comes shortly after Shilpa Shinde returned to the popular television show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain in 2025.
According to reports, she has since said she maintains a positive relationship with the show’s team and returned to the project due to her connection with its writer.
