Actor Robert Pattinson has responded to criticism and media reports suggesting he did not properly train for his role in Batman: Part II.
The 40-year-old Twilight star dismissed the narrative that he avoided physical preparation, insisting that he had been committed to a demanding fitness routine.
Earlier remarks attributed to the actor suggested he once described working out as “uncool,” sparking online debate about his dedication to the superhero role.
‘I worked out every day,’ says actor
In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Pattinson defended himself strongly, saying the claims about his training were inaccurate.
“I worked out every f***ing day, even after that, I still look like I didn’t work out. I worked out twice a day at, like, three o’clock in the morning,” he said.
The actor also added that despite public perception, he had maintained a consistent and intense exercise routine.
Home gym setup and preparation
Pattinson revealed that he has installed a home gym at his Beverly Hills residence to continue preparing for the sequel.
He jokingly admitted that he is now fully committed to training, saying he is determined to stay in shape for the role.
However, the actor noted that he has not yet received an official filming schedule for the project.
Filming schedule still unclear
According to Pattinson, he recently spoke with a stunt coordinator who mentioned a demanding production schedule.
“I just heard from the stunt guy the other day. He said, ‘Ooh, 11 weeks of nights.’ I’m like, ‘Excuse me? No one’s even sent me a schedule,’” he said.
Batman: Part II is directed by Matt Reeves and is set to feature a high-profile cast, including Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Brian Tyree Henry, Charles Dance, and Sebastian Koch.
The film is currently scheduled for release on October 1, 2027, making it one of the most anticipated superhero sequels in development.
