Bollywood star Salman Khan has reportedly taken legal action against the makers of Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy, a film said to be inspired by the long-running blackbuck poaching case associated with the actor.
According to reports, Khan's legal team has sent a notice to the film's producers and director, demanding that the movie's release be halted and all promotional material be withdrawn.
Legal notice seeks immediate action
The notice reportedly calls for the removal of posters, advertisements, and other marketing content related to the film.
It also warns that further legal proceedings could be initiated if the filmmakers fail to comply with the demands.
The move has cast uncertainty over the future of the project and whether it will be released as scheduled.
Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy is being produced by Amit Jani, who has previously backed films inspired by high-profile and controversial real-life incidents.
Among his earlier projects was a film based on the murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal, a case that generated significant public debate.
The upcoming film is directed by Bharat S. Shrinate and is being produced under Jani Firefox Media Private Limited.
First-look poster released despite legal challenge
Despite the reported legal notice, the production team has moved ahead with promotional activities and unveiled the film's first-look poster.
The poster features a mysterious central character against a dramatic red-and-blue backdrop, suggesting an action-thriller narrative with themes inspired by real-life legal and political events.
According to the filmmakers, the project has been developed on a larger scale with an international-style presentation.
The makers have announced that the film's teaser will be released on June 20, indicating that production and marketing plans remain on track for now.
Producer responds to notice
Reacting to the legal notice, producer Amit Jani alleged that the action was intended to intimidate those associated with the film.
In a statement, he claimed the notice was aimed at pressuring the filmmakers because of Salman Khan's influence and celebrity status.
However, Salman Khan and his legal representatives have not publicly responded to these allegations.
With legal questions now emerging around the project, the future of Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy remains uncertain.
Whether the film proceeds to release as planned may depend on the outcome of the dispute between the actor's legal team and the filmmakers in the coming weeks.
