Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati, as Pakistan intensified diplomatic engagement over the evolving security situation in the Middle East.
The discussions focused on the latest regional developments, efforts to reduce tensions, and the importance of maintaining peace and stability in an increasingly volatile environment.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Ishaq Dar spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to exchange views on the current regional situation and matters of mutual interest.
During the conversation, Araghchi appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in regional diplomacy and acknowledged Islamabad’s efforts to promote peace and dialogue.

The Iranian foreign minister expressed strong concern over reported ceasefire violations in Lebanon and possible Israeli orders targeting certain areas of Beirut. He emphasized the need for continued diplomatic initiatives to prevent further escalation in the region.
Araghchi also requested Pakistan to continue its diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and encouraging restraint among all parties involved.
Pakistan calls for preserving ceasefire
Responding to the concerns, Ishaq Dar stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire and avoiding actions that could undermine regional stability.
He said the current understanding among stakeholders could be preserved through the continued implementation of the ceasefire and sustained diplomatic engagement.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations as the regional situation develops.
