Tehran has expressed strong distrust of United States policies, according to Ali Bagheri, Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
Speaking from Tehran, Ali Bagheri stated that there is no trust in the United States, terming breach of promises as part of its nature, and demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Iran’s frozen assets.
He maintained that an end to hostilities across all fronts, including Lebanon, is essential, adding that a ceasefire remains a fundamental principle of any negotiated agreement.
The Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council reiterated the demand for the return of frozen assets without conditions and repeated his criticism of US policy.
Separately, Ibrahim Azizi, head of Iran’s Parliamentary National Security Committee, stated in an interview with Iranian television that Iran has submitted a 14-point proposal, while the main obstacle remains American confusion.
Azizi stated that President Donald Trump is facing a strategic deadlock during negotiations, adding that Iran holds the advantage on the ground and that US pressure has failed.
He added that threats-based American measures will face defeat, placing responsibility for the stalled negotiations on the United States, while stressing that Iran remains firmly committed to its position.
