Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that no one has held talks with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) regarding the 28th constitutional amendment.
According to details surfaced on Wednesday, while speaking to the media in Sehwan, he said there was no amendment under consideration, nor any discussion on provinces or the division of cities. He stated that no constitutional amendment can be passed in the Assembly without the consent of the PPP. CM Murad has added that neither any draft nor proposal has been shared.
He said that the conflict between Iran and the United States had pushed up inflation across the world. The Sindh chief minister has said that the government is trying to ensure that the new budget places the least possible burden on low-income groups, adding that any decision on salary increases would be taken after consultation with the federal government.
The Sindh CM has said that the province faces a severe shortage of resources, putting development schemes at risk. He opposed the creation of smaller districts, saying it increases expenditure and requires additional offices. He added that discussions with the centre are ongoing and that clear figures on Federal Board of Revenue collections have yet to be received.
