US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Donald Trump preferred to resolve issues with Iran through negotiations, but added that other options remained available if no agreement was reached.
According to details, Marco Rubio told a cabinet meeting that some progress had been made regarding a possible agreement with Iran, and the situation would become clearer in the coming hours and days.
He said it was clear that Iran could not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
Rubio said that President Trump had consistently preferred resolving such matters through negotiations, adding that if this course failed, other options were also available.
He said the United States continued to give priority to negotiations and diplomacy and wished to provide every possible opportunity for the process to succeed.
