Iran has accused the United States of violating the ceasefire with strikes in southern Hormozgan province, warning that Tehran will respond and will not back down in defending its people and national interests.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that the United States carried out attacks in the Hormozgan region during the past 48 hours.
The ministry described the action as a “gross violation” of the ceasefire. It said the strikes took place in the maritime area off southern Hormozgan province, where Bandar Abbas is located.
Washington acted during diplomacy
In its statement, Iran accused the US of launching the attacks while diplomatic efforts were underway. The ministry said Washington had once again proven that it was not trustworthy.
