Iran’s top leadership delivered a series of strong warnings to the United States and its allies on the Day of Arafa, as tensions remain high despite ongoing discussions between Tehran and Washington over ending the months-long conflict.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said Gulf countries would no longer serve as shields for US military bases.
In a statement posted on his Telegram channel, Khamenei said the United States would no longer find a “safe haven” to spread war or establish military bases in the region.
“The hands of time do not turn back, and the nations and territories of the region will no longer serve as a shield for American bases,” he said.
Call for unity among Muslim nations
Khamenei urged Muslim countries and regional powers to build a collective system for protecting common interests. He called on Islamic nations to promote friendship, cooperation and development for the benefit of the Muslim Ummah.
“With sincerity and purity, I invite all Islamic countries and governments to friendship and cooperation for the common good,” he said.
Iran claims victory over enemies
The Iranian supreme leader said Iran’s enemies had failed to force the country to surrender or lay down its arms. He said “Allah’s weapons” had given the Iranian nation strength and courage during the conflict.
Khamenei added that Iran had delivered a hard blow to what he described as an aggressive enemy and claimed the enemy had been left helpless in the war imposed on Iran.
Khamenei said the slogan “Death to America” would remain a constant principle of Iran. He also declared that “the needle of time will not turn back” and claimed Israel was moving toward decline while the future belonged to Islamic nations.
The supreme leader also praised the so-called “axis of resistance,” including groups aligned with Iran in Lebanon. According to Khamenei, Iranian proxy forces had taught the United States and what he called the “Zionist entity” a lesson during the conflict.
Iran accuses US of testing new weapon on civilians
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei accused the United States of using advanced weapons on Iranian civilians during the 40-day war.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Baqaei alleged that US forces used airburst missiles that released high-velocity tungsten pellets during a strike on a sports hall on February 28. He said the attack killed 24 civilians, including a two-year-old girl.
During a meeting with Dr. Mousa Mousavi, the member of Parliament for Mehr & #Lamerd, I was briefed on the harrowing details of a devastating American missile strike on a sports hall in the city of Lamerd, Fars Province.

According to Baqaei, the missiles rapidly dispersed particles that caused widespread destruction across the area.
“This was not a mistake – it was a calculated decision to test the destructive power of a new weapon system on Iranian civilians,” he wrote.
He described the alleged strike as a “clear and despicable war crime.”
Iranian military warns of stronger retaliation
Senior Iranian Armed Forces spokesperson Abolfazl Shekarchi warned that any new aggression against Iran would trigger a much harsher response than before. He said that if another war were imposed on Iran, the conflict would spread beyond the region’s borders.
According to comments carried by Iran’s Fars news agency, Shekarchi warned that Iran’s future attacks would be heavier and more violent. He also cautioned adversaries against what he called any “adventure” against Iran.
Iranian officials said the country was fully prepared to respond to any situation. Baqaei reiterated that Tehran remained ready to confront any future developments.
Iran must negotiate from strength
Iranian lawmaker Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said Tehran’s negotiators should enter talks with the US from a position of strength.
“The definitive victor of the war has been and remains the valiant Iranian nation,” Rezaei wrote on X. He warned against compromising on Iran’s “red lines” and said yielding to the enemy would only encourage further pressure.

Khamenei’s remarks came as Tehran and Washington continue discussions on a possible framework to end their three-month-old war. Iran has repeatedly argued that regional countries should reduce or end the American military presence in the Middle East.
Iranian officials insist the country will continue to retaliate whenever it perceives a threat from the United States or its allies.
