Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met high-level delegations of major Chinese companies in Beijing and invited them to expand investment in Pakistan’s agriculture, infrastructure, logistics and industrial sectors.
The meetings took place as Pakistan and China marked 75 years of diplomatic relations, with both sides reaffirming their strategic partnership.
During the meetings, Shehbaz stressed the need to accelerate work on ongoing projects under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation in agriculture, economy, industry and infrastructure development. The PM said his visit to China was part of a broader mission to strengthen and develop Pakistan’s economy.
Chinese firms express confidence in Pakistan
According to official statements, leading Chinese companies expressed complete satisfaction with Pakistan’s economic potential.
The companies showed keen interest in increasing investment across multiple sectors, including agriculture, industrial production, logistics, minerals and infrastructure.
The Pakistani side described the discussions as positive and forward-looking.
Famsun delegation discusses agricultural ties
The CEO of Chinese company Famsun met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with a delegation during the Beijing visit. The prime minister appreciated the company’s long-standing services to Pakistan’s agricultural sector, particularly in grain storage.

He highlighted reducing post-harvest losses as one of his government’s top priorities and invited Famsun to establish manufacturing and technology facilities in Pakistan.
Sea to Steel and mineral sector projects reviewed
The chairman of Shandong Xinxhu Group Corporation also met the prime minister alongside a delegation. Shehbaz appreciated the group’s investment in the Sea to Steel project in Port Qasim, Gwadar and Pakistan’s mineral sector.

He stressed the importance of expediting work on these projects to support industrial growth and economic activity.
The prime minister also held meetings with the chairman of China Communications Construction Company and senior representatives of China Road and Bridge Corporation.

During the discussions, PM Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to speeding up progress on the ML-1 railway project, the realignment of the Karakoram Highway and other connectivity initiatives under CPEC.
He said Pakistan considers both Chinese companies long-term strategic partners in infrastructure modernization.
Shehbaz addresses ceremony marking 75 years of ties
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also addressed a ceremony in Beijing marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
He paid tribute to China’s support for Pakistan during difficult times and praised Beijing’s role in promoting peace and prosperity in the region.
The prime minister recalled China’s support during Pakistan’s devastating 2010 floods and acknowledged the country’s economic transformation over the last 75 years.
Praise for President Xi Jinping’s leadership
Addressing the ceremony, Shehbaz said China had become a model for the world because of its unprecedented economic progress. He praised Chinese President Xi Jinping’s leadership, saying millions of people had been lifted out of poverty under his vision.
The prime minister also said President Xi believes in dialogue and peaceful resolution of disputes.
To commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Chinese vice president jointly cut a ceremonial cake during the event in Beijing.
The ceremony highlighted the longstanding friendship and strategic cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Pakistan, China 'iron brotherhood'
Pakistan and China will jointly transform their “iron brotherhood” into an economic revolution, Prime Minister Sharif said during his address at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) in Beijing.
The PM said both countries would work together to achieve major goals in agriculture, industry, research, development and other strategic sectors of cooperation.
During his speech, Shehbaz offered the CAAS administration the opportunity to take over the management of the Pakistan Agricultural Research Center. He also announced that 1,000 Pakistani agricultural graduates would be sent to Chinese universities for advanced education and training.
He also visited the headquarters of IBI Corporation in Beijing, where he addressed a ceremony focused on promoting Pakistan-China industrial cooperation and cross-border industrial corridors.
Speaking at the event, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening economic, trade and technical ties with China. He said Pakistan would provide full support and facilitation to Chinese companies seeking to expand their businesses in the country.

“It was a pleasure to host the IBI delegation in Islamabad a few weeks ago,” the prime minister said, assuring the company of all possible support for its business activities in Pakistan.
Shehbaz said that under CPEC Phase 2.0, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology (IT) are among Pakistan’s four top priority sectors, and the government is moving forward rapidly to promote these programs.
Addressing young participants at the event, the prime minister described them as talented entrepreneurs and experts in their respective fields. He said Pakistan is taking extensive measures to equip its youth with technical training and professional skills.
“Youth are our future, and Pakistan-China cooperation will grow even stronger through closer ties between the young people of both countries,” he said.

The prime minister also highlighted vast investment opportunities available in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) under CPEC 2.0. He invited Chinese investors to visit the first SEZ near Port Qasim in Karachi, describing it as a highly promising project spread over more than 6,000 acres with modern infrastructure and facilities.
Upon his arrival at IBI headquarters, the PM was received by Wang Shaofeng, the party secretary of Fengtai District, and Qian Xiaojun, president of IBI Corporation.
More than 150 companies and their representatives attended the thematic meeting on promoting China-Pakistan industrial cooperation and cross-border industrial corridors.
