The federal government has declared public holidays for Eid-ul-Azha from May 26 to May 28.
According to details surfaced on Wednesday, the notification was issued by the Cabinet Division following approval by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The Zilhaj moon was sighted in Pakistan on 17 May, paving the way for Eid-ul-Azha to be observed nationwide on Wednesday, 27 May.
Moreover, the moon sighting was reported from several cities, including Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Mardan, leading to nationwide confirmation of the date for the religious festival.
