National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq met a delegation of Bangladeshi civil servants at Parliament House and discussed measures to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The NA speaker welcomed the Bangladeshi delegation and stressed the need to further reinforce the historic and people-to-people ties between the two countries. He said the affection of the Bangladeshi people reflected the desire for improved relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Sadiq briefed the delegation on parliamentary reforms and digital initiatives introduced in the National Assembly. He said steps were under way to turn the National Assembly into a fully paperless parliament.
The NA speaker has said that the MNAs had been provided with iPads to ensure digital access, adding that digitalisation would improve transparency, efficiency and conservation of resources.
The delegation was also briefed on the use of artificial intelligence and modern technology in parliamentary affairs.
The Bangladeshi delegation praised the parliamentary reforms and digital measures introduced by the National Assembly and expressed interest in enhancing parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
