Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said 31 people taken into US custody had returned through Pakistan.
According to details, the group included 11 Pakistani nationals and 20 Iranian citizens. In a message posted on X, (formerly Twitter), Dar said all Pakistani and Iranian citizens had safely departed for their respective countries with the cooperation of Singapore. A special flight left for Islamabad after reaching Bangkok from Singapore.
Alhamdolillah, I am pleased to share that we have been successful in the repatriation of 11 Pakistani nationals, alongside 20 nationals of our brotherly country Iran, through Singapore, who were aboard vessels seized in the high seas by the United States.

He said Iranian citizens had also been provided facilities for their return home through Pakistan. Dar expressed gratitude to the Singapore government and its foreign minister for assistance during transit.
The deputy prime minister said the confidence shown by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Pakistan was commendable. He also thanked the Thai government for providing facilities during transit in Bangkok.
Dar praised the efforts of the Foreign Office, the Interior Ministry and Pakistani missions involved in the process.
