The International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued its annual update of the ODI team rankings, with India retaining the number one position despite a reduced lead over New Zealand.
According to details released on Monday, India remain at the top of the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings with 118 points. New Zealand are second on 113 points, while reigning world champions Australia hold third place with 109 points.
South Africa have moved up to fourth position with 102 points after overtaking Pakistan, who have slipped to fifth place on 98 points.
Sri Lanka remain sixth in the rankings, followed by Afghanistan in seventh position and England in eighth place. Bangladesh are ranked ninth, while the West Indies occupy 10th position.
In other changes, Ireland have moved ahead of Zimbabwe into 11th place, while the United States have overtaken Scotland to claim 13th position. The United Arab Emirates have also moved above Canada into 19th place.
India also remain top of the ICC Men’s T20I rankings following the latest annual update, while Australia continue to lead the Test rankings. Australia are also ranked first in both the Women’s ODI and T20I rankings.
