Atiqa Odho has opened up about her personal life and revealed that it was her son who encouraged her to marry for the third time after years of living alone.
Speaking during a recent television show appearance, the senior actress shared details about the difficult period following the failure of her second marriage and how her son played a key role in helping her make an important life decision.
Atiqa Odho recalled that after her second marriage ended, her son Bilal advised her to consider marrying Samar Ali Khan.
“I have experienced this in my life because when my second marriage failed a long time ago, my son came to me and told me I should marry Samar Ali Khan,” she said.
The actress revealed that her mother was strongly against the idea of a third marriage and feared public criticism.
“My mother was completely against the third marriage. She said people would make fun of her,” Atiqa shared.
However, according to the actress, her son Bilal continued encouraging her and believed she deserved companionship after facing many challenges in life.
‘You have lived alone for many years’
Atiqa said her son reminded her that she had spent years alone and deserved happiness and support.
“He told me, ‘Mom, you should get married now. You have been living alone for many years. You have seen many ups and downs of life. Now it is time for you to accept Samar Ali Khan’s company because he is a good person and likes you,’” she recalled.
The veteran actress added that she was still unsure about the marriage because her daughters were also against the decision initially.
According to Atiqa, her son reassured her by saying, “Don’t worry about them, just get married, I will take care of them.”Atiqa Odho shared that she got married for the first time at the age of 15, and the marriage lasted around 10 years.
She later married again by choice, but that marriage also ended unsuccessfully.
The actress eventually married Samar Ali Khan in June 2012.
Dr. Samar Ali Khan served as a member of the Sindh Assembly from 2013 to 2018.
