Akshaye Khanna is once again winning praise from fans, this time for a past incident that highlighted his strong stand against disrespect on film sets.
The actor, who recently impressed audiences with his portrayal of Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar, was praised by fellow actor Amit Behl during an interview with Siddharth Kannan.
Speaking in the interview, Amit Behl recalled an uncomfortable moment during a film shoot when a cast member was allegedly insulted while having lunch at a hotel buffet.
According to Behl, the actor had just started eating when the producer’s wife, or one of her relatives, reportedly objected to him eating from the buffet.
Behl said a member of the production team approached the actor and told him he was not allowed to eat the food.
“The moment this actor took his first bite at the hotel’s lunch buffet, the producer’s wife or some relative noticed that he didn’t belong there and said he shouldn’t be eating that food,” Behl recalled.
He added that the actor quietly put his plate aside and sat alone after feeling humiliated by the incident.
Akshaye Khanna immediately took a stand
According to Amit Behl, Akshaye Khanna strongly reacted after witnessing the situation and spoke up against the disrespectful behaviour.
Behl recalled Akshaye saying, “A film doesn’t get made by the number of plates or by how much food you have; it is made by the blessings of people.”
Amit Behl said the moment was powerful because Akshaye Khanna is usually known for being quiet and reserved.
“It really seemed as though a man who hardly speaks had finally unleashed the volcano within him,” he added.
The actor is currently enjoying success following his recent releases, including Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
Fans have particularly praised his unique screen presence, dialogue delivery, and intense performances, which continue to strengthen his reputation as one of Bollywood’s most versatile actors.
