Pakistan batter Imam-ul-Haq said experienced fast bowler Mohammad Abbas was the most suitable choice for the conditions in Dhaka, adding that the pacer had already produced strong performances in county cricket.
Speaking on Saturday, Imam-ul-Haq said both debutant batters had shown good form and faced the pace of Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana with confidence.
He said Pakistan produced a good display during the day’s play, dismissing Bangladesh and scoring more than 170 runs in reply. Imam-ul-Haq said it was still too early to speak about which side held the advantage in the match.
Commenting on the injury of Babar Azam, he said only doctors could provide an update on the batter’s condition.
He added that Babar Azam appeared fine when he last spoke to him.
