Veteran Pakistani filmmaker Syed Noor has admitted that casting TikTok star Jannat Mirza in his film proved to be a “disaster.”
Speaking during a recent appearance on a private TV program, Syed Noor reflected on the poor box office performance of his film Tere Bajre Di Rakhi and shared his views on changing audience behavior in cinemas.
During the interview, the filmmaker said the movie was made with great effort, but failed to attract audiences to cinemas.
He candidly stated that casting Jannat Mirza did not work in the film’s favor and described the decision as a “disaster.”
“People already watch her on TikTok”
Explaining his point of view, Syed Noor said audiences may have felt there was no need to buy cinema tickets to watch Jannat Mirza because they could already see her regularly on TikTok.

According to him, viewers today consume content differently compared to the past, which has changed the appeal of film stars and cinema culture.
Syed Noor also spoke about how the entertainment industry has evolved over the years.
He said that in earlier times, films had loyal fan followings and audiences eagerly waited for movies starring their favorite actors. However, he believes that era has changed, and people no longer wait specifically for an actor’s film release before going to cinemas.
