Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has been awarded the title of “Greatest Victorious General of the Century” at a major international conference, recognising his role in promoting peace and regional stability.
The Sixth International Paigham-i-Islam Conference conferred the titles of “Leader of Peace” and “Greatest Victorious General of the Century” on Syed Asim Munir.
The recognition was given for his role in strengthening stability and promoting peace across the Muslim world.
Global leaders and delegates attend
The conference, organised by the International Tazeem-i-Haramain Sharifain Council and the Pakistan Ulema Council, drew participation from key national and international figures.
Attendees included Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and AJK Prime Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore.
Also present were Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Palestinian Ambassador Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Hamdallah Zaid, Grand Mufti of Palestine Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, and Chief Justice of Palestine Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, along with scholars and international delegates.
Condemnation of Attacks on Iran
The conference strongly condemned attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel.
Participants also expressed concern over strikes targeting Arab countries, warning that such actions could destabilise the region.
Recognition for PM
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was presented a shield of appreciation for his stance on key international issues, particularly Palestine.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, named “Global Personality of 2025,” received a special award for promoting defence cooperation with Pakistan and fostering unity within the Muslim world.
Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, reaffirmed full support for the government and armed forces.
He congratulated the nation on recent achievements, particularly referencing Marka-i-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, calling them symbols of national success.
Emphasis on Muslim unity and cooperation
Ashrafi stressed the need for unity within the Muslim Ummah and endorsed Pakistan’s stance on regional issues, including relations with Iran and Arab states.
He also highlighted the importance of Pakistan–Saudi Arabia strategic cooperation, describing it as vital for strengthening collective security among Muslim nations.
The conference condemned the killing of religious scholar Maulana Muhammad Idrees Tarangzai.
Participants stated that violence, extortion, and lawlessness have no connection with Islam and expressed solidarity with state institutions in maintaining law and order.
It was announced that the Seventh International Paigham-i-Islam Conference will be held in March 2027.
Invitations will be extended to global religious leaders, including the Imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, the Grand Mufti of Palestine, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and the Pope, to promote interfaith harmony.
Similar conferences are also planned in different parts of the world under the council’s platform.
The concluding session of the conference is scheduled to take place at Aiwan-i-Sadr under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari.
Following the event, international delegates are expected to depart for their respective countries.
