Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moqadam has said that Pakistan is the only mediator in ongoing negotiations with the United States.
He confirmed that Iran’s new proposals have been handed over through Islamabad, reinforcing Pakistan’s role as the primary diplomatic conduit.
The envoy stated that any progress in talks depends entirely on Washington’s approach.
According to him, the US will have to change its attitude if it seeks meaningful negotiations with Iran.
Reza Amiri Moqadam reiterated that Iran remains steadfast in its demands and position, with no deviation from its earlier stance.
He added that the latest proposals aim for a complete end to the war, signaling Tehran’s broader objectives.
Iran’s 14-point proposal explained
Two-Stage Plan
According to US media reports, Iran’s proposal consists of two phases:
- First Stage:
Reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and lifting of the naval blockade, alongside negotiations to end ongoing conflicts in Iran and Lebanon. - Second Stage:
A 30-day negotiation phase following initial agreement, focusing primarily on Iran’s nuclear programme.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the United States has lost its ability to decide, reflecting growing tensions.
It added that US President Donald Trump would have to either take “impossible military action” or move towards a deal with Iran.
US expands Iran talks team
The White House has added Nick Stewart to its Iran peace talks team.
US media reported that his inclusion came on the recommendation of Jared Kushner.
Stewart has prior experience in the State Department and has worked on Iran-related matters, including roles linked to the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.
Israel has approved a multi-billion dollar plan to purchase advanced fighter jets, including new squadrons of F-35 and F-15I aircraft from the United States.
Meanwhile, Israeli ceasefire violations in Lebanon continue, with warnings issued to residents of southern areas to evacuate amid threats of attacks.
Commander of Iran’s Quds Force, Esmail Qani, termed the blocking of Gaza aid as “global terrorism.”
He accused Israel of involvement in the killing of children and said global voices against Israeli actions are growing stronger.
NATO seeks clarity from US
The NATO has raised concerns over reports of potential US troop withdrawal from Germany.
Officials warned that such a move could impact European security and stressed the need for consultation with allies.
The OPEC+ is holding a key meeting following the UAE’s recent withdrawal announcement.
Member countries are expected to review oil production levels, with a possible increase of 180,000 barrels per day.
